Terms, privacy & refunds.

Ordering terms

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy food from Hank Marvins. The order is accepted when we confirm it on your order page. We may decline an order, for example if we are too busy, an item has run out or we can’t deliver to your address; if we do, any payment is refunded in full.

Online ordering is currently in demonstration mode. Orders placed on this website are test orders: no food is prepared or delivered and card payments run in Stripe test mode, so no money is taken. These terms apply once real online ordering opens.

Prices include VAT where it applies. Delivery charges and minimum order values are shown before you pay. Times shown are estimates.

Please check your order before you pay. Because food is made to order, you can’t cancel it once we’ve started preparing it. This doesn’t affect your legal rights if something is wrong with your food.

Allergies

Please tell us about any allergy before you order. We call every customer who declares an allergy before we cook, and label the order. We cannot guarantee any dish is free from traces of allergens.

Refunds & cancellations

If something is missing or wrong, contact us as soon as possible (ideally within an hour of delivery or collection) with your order number. We’ll put it right with a replacement or a refund to your original payment method.

If you want to cancel, call us straight away. If we haven’t started preparing your food, we’ll cancel and refund it in full.

Privacy & cookies

Hank Marvins is responsible for the personal information you give us when ordering. We use your name, phone number, email address (if given) and delivery address only to take, prepare and deliver your order and to contact you about it. The legal basis is the contract you make with us when you order, plus our legal duty to keep accounting records. We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, normally six years, and we never sell your information.

Card payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe on its own secure checkout page. We receive confirmation that you paid and the amount, but never your card number. Stripe’s privacy notice is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

What we store in your browser

Your basket and the contact details you typed are kept in your own browser so they survive a refresh and you don’t have to type them again. This is part of the ordering service you asked for and is not used for anything else. Clearing your browser data removes it. Signed-in staff get a sign-in cookie on the staff area only.

Anonymous statistics

To see which parts of the menu are used, we count anonymous events: pages viewed, menu categories and dishes opened, basket and checkout steps, and whether a postcode check found a delivery area. These are daily totals only. We set no cookies and store nothing on your device for this, and we record no identifiers, IP addresses, postcodes, order details or personal information. We honour Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track, and you can switch the counting off under .

We don’t use advertising, social media or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don’t load fonts or scripts from other companies’ servers.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by contacting the shop. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
